First Plane Ride

Tyler took his first plane ride this summer when we went to visit Mimi and Abuelito's house and then from there went on vacation to Florida. We traveled to Austin so that we could fly with Mimi to our vacation destination. Flying by myself with Tyler was quite an adventure. He behaved really well. It was all the stuff I had to carry that made it interesting. I felt so bad when we had to go through security because I had my purse/diaper bag, my carry-on, his stroller, his carseat, and him. Not only did I have to put all of it on the security belt, but I had to put both of our shoes on it, I had to take him out of the stroller just to put him back in, and I had to take out my laptop to be scanned. It was so crazy. I was just a little stressed considering I was cutting it close on when the plane was leaving. Fortunately, there were several people who helped me. There was the guy behind me in the security line who helped me put it all on and then he helped me after it when through too. I am not sure if he really wanted to help or he just wanted to get me moving so he could get through. I am pretty sure it was the former but either way, I did not care. It was help given kindly. Then when we were boarding the plane, another guy that was behind me offered to help. He was in a really good mood because he was a stand-by. I was extremely grateful for that. It was funny watching him try to get all my stuff down the aisle. It was a tight squeeze. I felt bad and grateful at the same time that I did not have to do it. Carrying the baby and my purse/diaper bag was enough for me. Fortunately, on the plane, we got a whole row of three seats to ourselves. That was so nice. I did not have to worry about anyone else around me. We finally made it to Austin after all the drama and I was happy to get help again. Tyler chilled while on the plane and I made him suck on his bottle. I think at times it still hurt him with the pressure because he would whine a little but I would too if I did not know what was going on so I understand. He did great though. I was proud of him.

Stairs Look Exciting

Tyler started looking at the stairs with interest a few days before he actually attempted them. He would look up at them and he would stand at the first stair. After he got a feel for it, he attempted to climb the first few stairs. I guess he realized it was not that difficult because he went full force after he mastered the first three which lead to a small landing and then it is straight uphill from there. Steve and I were always behind him on his attempts. We mostly let him attempt it just to see how far he would go. One day before Steve got home, Tyler was watching Monty go up and down the stairs, so I guess at that point he decided if Monty could do it, then he could do it. I stayed right behind him the whole time as he made his way all the way up to the top. It was cute when he would look back. I don't know if it was more of a "look at me" or making sure we were there. I could not believe it. I showed Steve when he got home and we videotaped it and took pictures just to mark a "first" moment. After that, we were very careful not to let him do it anymore, even for fun because we did not want him thinking it was ok. For a little while, I would constantly have to pull him off the stairs. I think when he realized we were not going to let him go up again, he got bored with it and I have not had an issue since then.

Second Time at Pool

We went with one of Tyler's girlfriends to ou neighborhood pool for his second time at the pool. Her name is Grace Horton and she is absolutely adorable as well. They had so much fun sitting in their floaties and soaking up the sun. Not really on the soaking up the sun - they had their sunscreen on =). They floated, they swam with help from their mommies, they relaxed, and they made new friends. It was great! Afterwards, we all went back to my house and they ate and played some more. Mindi and I had so much fun watching the two of them interact. Kids are amazing!

First Father's Day

Father's Day was nice. Steve had found an outfit for the two of them a while back. They look so adorable when they wear their matching outfit. Daddy had not framed his diplomas yet, so we gave that to him as his Father's Day gift.

First Time at the Pool

Tyler seems to love the water! His first time at the pool was so exciting. We went to our neighborhood pool with our friend Marla. I was definitely glad to have her with us. Not only did we have fun, but it was nice to have someone help with all the things that go along with taking a baby to the pool. I had the float and the swim clothes and the sunscreen and the drinks for him and the drinks for us and this and that... Everytime I leave the house I feel like I am taking everything in it with me. Once we got there, I wanted to take pictures right away with my new camera (which I love by the way - our other one was older and took forever to take a picture. This time I bought a much nicer camera and it takes awesome pictures). I took him into the baby pool and he loved it! He was splashing him arms around like crazy. The baby pool is nice because he can stand in it when you hold him. I walked him over to the step in the baby pool and he sat down and chilled there and put up his arms like "Mr. Joe Cool." We were cracking up. After we played it was Marla's turn. Marla moved him around in the water and took him to the part where water was coming down like a waterfall. He was checking it out at first and then he got excited and starting putting his hands in the water falling down. When he and Marla went under the waterfall, he kicked his feet up in floating position as if to let the water fall on his feet. It was adorable! We did some more playing in the water, we made a new friend, we floated, we took more pictures, and most of all, we had fun.

Update

Soooooo...I have not been on in a while. This summer has been quite busy. We have been enjoying our summer days and we also took a very long vacaction. I am going to try and get everything in that has happened in the past month. Tyler is continuing to amaze me everyday and I just love watching him. I love him so much and feel so blessed to have him in my life.
